The Government of Mali has made the development of the country’s northern regions a national priority. The programme’s goal is to help reduce poverty and hunger among pastoral and nomadic groups in the Kidal region. It works to increase and diversify incomes and improve living conditions, especially for women and children, by facilitating access to basic socio-economic services.
The BFFS grant concentrates on health, nutrition, education and training, and raising awareness of HIV/AIDS. In an area where the population is mostly nomadic, BFFS has funded studies to identify the best way of delivering health care services and education to the population.
