Birunga Maize Project

This project was designed to contribute to intensifying maize production in a densely populated region of volcanic mountains in northern Rwanda. It focused mainly on the selection of mountain varieties and on promoting high-yield varieties among farmers.

The main project objectives were to increase food production and to provide farmers with the means and services to enable them to improve their techniques and market their products.
