Marginal and Small Farm Systems Crop Intensification Project

The objectives of this project were to assist small and marginal farmers to escape the gradual process of marginalization, which often results in landlessness, and to improve their nutritional status. The project worked to:

  • increase the productivity of cropping systems as a whole and optimize the use of water
  • increase labour productivity by making maximum use of available resources and introducing additional income-generating activities
