Technical Assistance Fund Programme for the Departments of Leon, Chinandega and Managua
The programme improves the productive and marketing capacity of rural small- and medium-scale producers and entrepreneurs to help increase income and improve the living conditions of their families.
The programme promotes community development by encouraging farmers, particularly women, to participate in decision-making at all stages. It also helps modernize the agricultural sector and counteract the devastating effects of Hurricane Mitch.
The programme will strengthen organizations of small farmers and entrepreneurs,
enabling them to formulate their needs for technical assistance and
to demand, negotiate and cofinance these and other agricultural support
services.
