Programme for the Economic Development of the Dry Region in Nicaragua

The programme will enable about 12,000 households of poor farmers and rural microentrepreneurs to participate in the planning and implementation of business and employment plans.

The programme promotes improved access to income-generating activities by:

  • strengthening the capacity of members of the target groups, particularly women and youth, to access labour markets
  • increasing the supply of rural financial and non-financial services
