Agricultural Support Services Project

The project worked to assist 14 agricultural cooperatives in some of the least developed regions of the country, to demonstrate that these regions can play an active role in realizing the potential of agriculture. The objective was to improve the living standards and incomes of poor rural people. The project provided farmers with:

  • equipment for irrigation systems
  • various types of farm machinery and implements
  • chemical fertilizers and chemicals for plant protection
  • extension services, in-service training and fellowships
  • project management support
