Fourth Fisheries Development Project

The project supported activities to improve the living standards and incomes of poor people in 11 fishing villages on the coast from Mukalla to Sayhut. Activities included:

  • strengthening community facilities and infrastructure
  • providing fish processing equipment such as fishing vessels and gear
  • supporting a marine sciences and resources research centre
  • supporting the National Corporation for Fish Marketing
  • strengthening fisheries’ cooperatives
  • assisting women in undertaking activities to generate income
