In collaboration with the Government of Ghana and the West and Central Africa Division (WCA), the Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) organised a National Roundtable Workshop for the Ghana Country Programme Evaluation (CPE) on 2 November in Accra, Ghana. The objectives of the Ghana CPE national roundtable workshop were to:
The workshop was attended by over eighty participants, including the Minister of Food and Agriculture of Ghana, Hon. Kwesi Ahwoi
, the Associate Vice President of IFAD, the Director of IOE, the Director of WCA and staff members from WCA and IOE. Representatives from several ministries and development agencies of Ghana attended the workshop, along with staff from international development organisations active in Ghana, NGOs, research organisations and private entrepreneurs.
In addition to participating in the workshop, on 31 October, the IFAD delegation had an opportunity to visit field sites in the Eastern Region of Ghana of three IFAD-supported projects: Rural Finance Services Project (RFSP), Rural Enterprises Project – phase II (REP II), and Root and Tuber Improvement and Marketing Programme (RTIMP). Discussions with district, project staff and project clients provided a vivid briefing of project implementation progress.
