Enabling poor rural people
to overcome poverty

In collaboration with the Government of Viet Nam and the Asia and the Pacific Division, the Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) is organising a National Roundtable Workshop for the Viet Nam Country Programme Evaluation (CPE) on 17 November 2011 in Hanoi. The objectives of the Viet Nam CPE national roundtable workshop are to:

  • Discuss the main issues emerging from the Viet Nam CPE;
  • Provide inputs for the preparation of the evaluation’s Agreement at Completion Point (ACP); and
  • Provide an opportunity for reflecting on key issues for the forthcoming Viet Nam Country Strategic Opportunities Programme (COSOP).

In addition to participating in the workshop on 17 November,  the IFAD delegation from Rome will conduct field visits to the site of an IFAD-funded project, namely the Programme for Improving Market Participation of the Poor (IMPP) in Ha Tinh and Tra Vinh Provinces. The field visit will take place in Tra Vinh Province on 14-15 November 2011. This will offer  the IFAD delegation an opportunity to directly hold discussions with beneficiaries and their groups, project staff, district-level government authorities and others, as well as see project activities on the ground.

A number of high-level official bi-lateral meetings with the Government of Viet Nam are planned on 16 November 2011 in Hanoi.
