IFAD parallel special event: “New realities, challenges and opportunities for rural development in LDCs – Findings from the IFAD Rural Poverty Report 2011

LDCIVAn IFAD side event will be held on Monday 9 May, 13:00-15:00 hours, at Topkapi B, Lutfi Kirdar Convention and Exhibition Centre. Refreshments will be served prior to the start of the discussion.

The objective of the event is to draw attention to the challenges and opportunities facing poor rural people in LDCs and to discuss possible policy and investment responses. Towards this end, IFAD will share with participants the analysis and recommendations of IFAD’s Rural Poverty Report 2011 followed by a panel discussion and interactive dialogue with participants.  Please join us for a lively and dynamic debate, moderated by journalist Alex Puissant.
