PowerPoint Presentations

For your PowerPoint Presentation, please note the following points:

  • presentations should last maximum 10 minutes;
  • use a large font (22 or more) to assure that your presentation can be seen by all participants;
  • prepare a short note on paper (including a headline, your name, address) summarizing key points you will cover in your presentation. The note should serve also as a starting point for your own presentation;

First define the purpose of the presentation in relation to the title of the workshop.

Second explain the importance of the subject of your presentation by answering some of these questions, but not necessarily all:

Context and background?

When ? Where ?

What was/were the outcome(s)?

Who were the institutions involved?

Third what were the lessons learned (positive and negative)

  • Send presentation and summary note as e-mail attachment no later than 15 August to a.kowsar@ifad.org. The presentation would need to be loaded on to the Conference Computer;
  • We will try and arrange a preview before your presentation
  • You will receive information on the time of the preview and of actual presentation directly in Fiuggi

Note that, there will be also an overhead projector and a slide projector available on site.

Preparation of the Paper

Participants, who present a paper, please note the following points:

  • For presentation in the workshop, please follow the guidelines for the PowerPoint presentation above. In particular make reference to the three points (first, second, third)
  • The paper (including on the first page a headline, your name, address, a summary and 4-6 keywords under the summary) should be about 8-12 pages (a text page should contain about 480 words). This excludes annexes (please limit them) and literature references. Use of Internet references are welcome, but please provide them as detailed as possible and with a date (example: http://www.husdyr.kvl.dk/htm/php/tune99/6-Gibbons.htm (July 30, 2001)
  • Use Times New Roman Font (11) and make all headings in bold
  • Please use Spell-Check and ensure that references in the text are in the reference list and vice versa.
  • You will receive exact information on the time of your presentation directly in Fiuggi

Proceedings

Participants’ presentations (paper and Powerpoint + summary notes) will be included in a printed collection.

Hand-Outs

We will be pleased to provide you with the opportunity to share hand-outs or display material (other than your presentation) of interest to Workshop participants. However, note that we will not be able to make copies on site and therefore ask you to bring sufficient copies with you.

General Information

We do not have computers for general public use available on site, please bring your own if you foresee a need to use a computer.

Please note that the Workshop language will be English, no translation facilities will be available.
