From the 26 -31 August 2012, professionals from the scientific, business, policy and civic communities will gather in the capital of Sweden for the Stockholm World Water Week 2012 (SWWW). The theme for this year is Water and Food Security, an area closely linked to smallholder agriculture and rural development. IFAD will actively participate in the event by hosting seminars, sharing stories from our work on the ground, and engaging with other participants and partners - both in Stockholm as well as online via social media.

For those of you participating in the event in Stockholm we encourage you to visit our booth, and join our seminars where we will cover:

We will also participate in four other partner led seminars, see full list below for details. Additionally, IFAD facilitates the launch and demonstration of the beta-version of the platform that will support the Community of Practice for ‘Water and Rural People’. Please visit the dedicated booth close to the entrance and share your comments with us.

Even if you are not in Stockholm you can still follow us through the week on IFAD’s accounts on Twitter and Facebook, and through the social media hub of the SWWW - the hashtag used is #wwweek.
