Using data from a household survey conducted in eight rural communities in Guatemala covered by two IFAD projects, the study identifies the determinants of HFS and appraises the roles played by women and IFAD projects in enabling households to cope with food insecurity. The study also constructs a composite indicator of household vulnerability to food insecurity.
