As a member of the United Nations family, IFAD joins its voice to the growing movement of people no longer prepared to stay seated or silent in the face of poverty and inequality.

On 16 and 17 October, the Stand Up and Speak Out Against Poverty and for the MDGs initiative will be launched world-wide with support from the United Nations Secretary General Ban, Ki-moon.

IFAD has partnered with the Millennium Campaign in Italy to produce a 2007 Public Service Announcement (PSA) spot that is being broadcast by RAI, Mediaset, La7 and MTV Italia, until 17 October. The PSA coincides with the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17 October.
