Project Staff

Boloroo Bolortsteg, Project Secretary is 27 years old and works in the project office in Tsetserleg. After graduating in Ulaan Baatar, she came back to Arkhangai, where she was born, as she wanted to work in her Aimag (province). Boloroo's favourite time of year is the summer, when she takes her vacation and goes back to live with her mother and other relatives in their ger. She fully understands the herder's lifestyle and problems, as she was brought up as they were, and her family survives by breeding livestock.

Tumembayor Tsedendamba, Project Director

Transcript of Interview:

Mongolia - Interview with IFAD Project StaffWhen this project started in 1997, there was no other project similar. This meant that for us, the difficulties were in how to design it, the methodology to use, it was difficult to know where to start. Now today, we already have the design and the methodology know how. Now in Mongolia there are a lot of projects, but they are all working according to the methodologies that we developed.

We had always wanted to include health services, education and social services in the project, but we failed. But now that we have a strong project base, this could be the framework for all the other components such as health and education. Our main plan for the future is to start implementing these new components.

I. Hanimhan, Deputy Director, Ministry of Food and Agriculture Mongolia

Transcript of Interview:

Mongolia - Interview with IFAD Project StaffYes, we can say the project has been implemented successfully because the repayments of the loans are coming in well. In the first two to three years there was a 100% repayment from the vegetable loans. And the livestock loans, the first two years they paid 100% and the last two years we had some problems - the dzud problem - some beneficiaries lost their animals. Maybe this year the payments will be 80-90%.
