	In this issue Today, the world is home to over one billion young people between the ages of 15 and 24 years. Some 61.5 per cent of these youth live in the Asia and the Pacific Region, with a significant proportion living in rural areas. Youth is an important phase of life when human capital can be built to enable young people to lead more fulfilling lives in the future and to contribute to their country’s economic development.
