IFAD works with a variety of NGOs. At the field level, IFAD works with development NGOs that have expertise in the areas of IFAD interventions and direct outreach to rural poor populations. It also works with NGOs that may not work directly with the poor but support other grass-roots organizations in a variety of ways, such as research, technical assistance, capacity-building, information sharing, advocacy and networking. The Fund also works with advocacy NGOs that defend and promote the cause of rural poverty reduction and have influence in the policy-making processes of governments and other development agencies.
