IFAD/GEF adaptation to climate change workshop
Climate change affects food security, impedes access to water, contributes to diseases spreading and increases natural disasters. In this sense, it is an obstacle to achieving development goals in vulnerable countries. Adaptation to climate change aims to reduce countries' vulnerability by implementing measures that take into account the adverse impacts of climate change and GEF-supported projects aim to help the transition from a climate-vulnerable to a climate-resilient development. This workshop held on 18-19 May 2007 on IFAD premises was organized to better explain and to offer guidance on how to access funding under the GEF managed programme.
