The Executive Board also reviewed the Country Strategic Opportunities Paper for the Republic of Mozambique (document EB 2001/74/R.12 and addendum). The coherence between IFAD's strategy and the Government's development policy was commended, as were IFAD's efforts to include marginal areas in the scope of its programmes. It was requested that in future iterations of the COSOP, IFAD clarify its particular area of contribution to the development of a fisheries policy; highlight the importance of infrastructure development; pay attention to issues such as financial management; and explicitly document the Fund's participation in inter-donor coordination.
