We Just Want What Belongs To Us

A booklet produced by the Regional Programme in Support of Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon River Basin, which is supported by an IFAD grant and technical cooperation from the Andean Development Fund. It describes the programme and the efforts of the indigenous peoples to achieve self-sufficiency and maintain their cultural characteristics and pride. Several beneficiaries are quoted, and rituals, traditions, handicrafts and ecological issues are described.

The booklet is based on the policy paper entitled "IFAD Framework for Bridging Post-Crisis Recovery and Long-Term Development" approved by IFAD’s Executive Board in September 1998.

Niafunké Mali: Projet de Développement de la Zone Lacustre, Phase II

In a very simple and illustrative manner, the booklet provides general information on the second phase of the Zone Lacustre Development Project in Mali. Production of the booklet was initiated during the start-up seminar for the project by a communications consultant who collected information from all parties involved in project implementation: beneficiaries, government agencies, NGOs, donors and the cooperating institution.
