Indigenous food systems are anchored in traditional knowledge, and produce sufficient food and resources for Indigenous communities while preserving biodiversity. Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge can make food systems healthier, more equitable and more sustainable, while adapting to climate change. 

Through evidence, storytelling and a Q&A, this session will showcase how the effective participation of Indigenous Peoples in decision-making and policymaking is key to achieving food security.

Moderator: Sherilee Harper, Associate Professor, University of Alberta and lead author of the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
