Gianluca Franceschini is a Geospatial Environment Specialist working for the Geospatial Unit (CBDS) of FAO. He graduated in Biology with 15+ years of experience in GIS and Remote Sensing applications on sustainable development, landscape ecology, land cover mapping, natural resources and agricultural monitoring. He is an enthusiastic practitioner of using scripting languages (Python, Google Earth Engine API, R) to develop workflows for the processing, analysis and presentation of statistical and geospatial data.
