تؤكد الأدلة الجديدة في تقرير حالة الأمن الغذائي والتغذية في العالم 2018 ارتفاع معدل الجوع في العالم: فقد تزايد عدد الأشخاص الذين يعانون من الجوع على مدى السنوات الثلاث الماضية، حيث عاد إلى مستويات منذ ما يقرب من عقد من الزمان. تتجلى الأشكال المتعددة لسوء التغذية في العديد من البلدان: فبدانة البالغين تنمو حتى مع استمرار أشكال نقص التغذية.
