Belize Country strategy note 2022-2024

IFAD overall strategic objective is to contribute to the Government's goal of increasing resilience of rural poor over weak and volatile national and global economic conditions, ensuring an inclusive, innovative and equitable reactivation and recovery process.

This objective would be achieved by promoting capacity building and innovations in climate smart agriculture linked to markets and value chains; and by building infrastructure at the farm and community levels that increases resilience to CC and contributes to the improvement of their livelihoods.

• Strategic Objective 1 (SO1): Support poor farmers to build capacities for increasing resilience to CC and strengthen their organizations for integrating business approaches to marketing and agro-processing linked to opportunities in the agricultural value chains.
• Strategic Objective 2 (SO2): Support investments for building and rehabilitating rural infrastructure that is resilient to CC and enhances production and market activities of the target population.
