The One Planet Summit for Biodiversity will gather worldwide leaders to bring concrete and innovative solutions to reduce pressure on nature. One main focus will be on agroecology as a tool to protect the diversity of ecosystems while enabling job creation and ensuring food security, showing a concrete example of the impact nature based solutions have on both environmental and socio-economic issues.

The Great Green Wall will be a highlight of the summit. In the morning, the Great Green Wall Investment Forum will open a dialogue to channel private finance to achieve the Great Green Wall by 2030. IFAD and GCF will present the Great Green Wall Umbrella programme, which aims to bring climate financing and expertise to the initiative.

In the afternoon, IFAD President will lead a panel discussion on the Great Green Wall. President Macron will announce the Great Green Accelerator, a multi-stakeholder mobilization to support the completion of the Great Green Wall by 2030.
