Mexico's Social Gender Bond: Looking for new paradigms for promoting social and economic inclusion of vulnerable groups

16.00 CET | 09.00 CST

This virtual meeting will explore innovative models for promoting the social and economic inclusion of rural people. It is hosted by IFAD and FIRA, Mexico's National Bank for rural development.

FIRA's CEO Jesús Alan Elizondo Flores will present the Social Gender Bond (Bono Social de Género), launched by the Bank last October, a tool for capturing private capital to invest in rural women's financial and productive inclusion.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion between Rossana Polastri, IFAD Director for Latin America and the Caribbean; Jyotsna Puri, Director of IFAD’s Environment, Climate, Gender and Social Inclusion Division; Benjamin Powell, Director & Treasurer, IFAD’s Office of Treasury Services; Maria Antonieta Alva, former Minister of Economy and Finance, Republic of Peru; and Karina Ramirez Arras, Head of the Non-Tax Revenue Policy Unit at Mexico’s Secretary of Finance.
