Thomas Bousios

Thomas Bousios is Director and CIO at IFAD where he oversees all aspects of information technology, communication systems, information security and management, data analytics platforms and ICT solutions.

Before joining IFAD, Thomas Bousios was with the European Union and the European Defence Agency (EDA), where he led all ICT activities and was responsible for ICT collaboration tools, classified systems and networks, information management platforms, ICT work programmes and extranets. Prior to this, he was working in support of the European Union's ICT activities for the ITER nuclear fusion project for the EU Commission and as Group Leader in ICT at Fusion for Energy (F4E). Thomas Bousios started his career in the private sector with a stint at Citibank, followed by a strong track record in IT and management consulting as Team Leader/Manager at Deloitte Consulting and at Ernst & Young Global Client Consulting, advising clients worldwide on ICT, Shared Services, Strategic Operations and Financial Systems.

Thomas Bousios holds an MBA and a master's degree in business informatics from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Graduate School of Business and has completed the innovative CIO programme at Stanford University.
