Projects and Programmes
IFAD works to eliminate hunger and poverty by investing in rural people by funding, designing and implementing programmes and projects.
IFAD’s regular grants programme supports inclusive rural transformation and helps achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by leveraging our impact on the ground, including by building capacity, and fostering a more conducive policy and investment environment for smallholder agriculture.
Recipients of IFAD grants include developing Member States, intergovernmental organizations (including United Nations agencies), civil society organizations, research and academic institutions, producer organizations, foundations and private companies. Eligible recipients must have been legally constituted in an IFAD Member State.
Regular grants fund activities in a single country (country-specific grants) or in several countries (global and regional grants) and do not need to be repaid.
Activities funded through regular grants are integral to IFAD’s work and complement other development instruments. Grants are provided in accordance with IFAD Regular Grants Policy and the Financing Procedures for IFAD Regular Grants.
