Secretary of IFAD and Head, Private Sector, Advisory and Implementation Unit
Luis Jiménez-McInnis is Head, Private Sector, Advisory and Implementation Unit at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He is responsible for brokering and cultivating partnerships with Member States to mobilize core resources for IFAD. He also works to identify partnerships with other public and private sector entities to meet the growing financial needs in the rural development sector.
Before joining the Fund as Special Adviser to the President, Jiménez-McInnis was First Officer in the Executive Office of UN Secretary-General, tasked with the climate change agenda. He also was involved in peace and security issues in Colombia and Haiti with the UN Department of Political Affairs. Earlier he worked as a Policy Analyst in the United Nations Development Programme and a Research Associate for Latin America Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Jiménez-McInnis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations from Brown University, United States, and a Master’s of International Affairs from Columbia University, United States.
