Lead Evaluation Officer
Nanthikesan is Lead Evaluation Officer at the Independent Office of Evaluationat IFAD. He has over 25 years of professional experience in the development field, including 17 years of evaluation experience in the United Nations development system. As the lead of the Strategic and Thematic Evaluation Group in the Independent Evaluation Office of UNDP, Suppiramaniam has conceptualized and conducted a number of corporate and country level evaluations. As a Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for decentralized evaluations, he has served in the Asia-Pacific as well as the sub-Saharan Africa regions, responsible for the planning, monitoring and evaluating country programmes in 68 countries.
Prior to joining the United Nations system, he served as a researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, and as a senior engineer in the private sector in the United States.
He received his undergraduate training as a civil engineer in Sri Lanka, his doctoral degree in engineering from MIT, and an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
