Federica Cerulli Irelli
Federica supports IFAD in its outreach to Member States through the development of country-specific partnership strategies; bridging dialogue between donors and recipient countries; and strengthening the institutional dialogue with key public, private and civil society stakeholders. Her main tasks concern liaising and advocating for a successful replenishment of IFAD's resources including through innovative financing mechanisms.
Her earlier positions in the Fund, include Senior Portfolio Adviser - review of IFAD's resource allocation system - and Supplementary Fund Officer – non-core resources management, design partnership programmes, develop guidelines.
Before joining IFAD in 2005, Federica worked as a socio-economic consultant for the private firm Agriconsulting SpA. Between 1999 and 2003 she worked as Country Representative and Project Coordinator in Ethiopia, for the Italian NGO Lay Volunteer International Association (LVIA).
Her academic background is in development economics. She holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics from the University of Sussex, UK.
