Regional Climate and Environment Specialist

Paxina Chileshe

Paxina Chileshe is an Adaptation Specialist in IFAD. She supports the design and implementation of projects to build resilience of smallholders to climate change. She also supports climate risk analyses for projects at entry and during implementation through IFAD's Social Environment and Climate Assessment Procedures.

Prior to joining IFAD, Chileshe was a Natural Resources Management Specialist in the Agriculture and Agro-Industry Department of the African Development Bank. She was responsible for task managing a portfolio of projects in implementation and incorporation of natural resources management and climate change adaptation measures. Earlier she was a Research Associate in the field of water politics. Chileshe started her career as a Metallurgical Engineer in the Zambian Copper Mines.

Chileshe holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne; an MBA and an MSc in Environmental Change and Management from the University of Oxford and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
