Call for proposals: IFAD grant Agri Connect

Enabling Private Sector Investment and Access to Services for Smallholder Farmers through Digital Farmer Registry

This call for proposals is to select a recipient or consortium of recipients to receive IFAD grant financing to implement the project ‘Agri Connect: Enabling Private Sector Investment and Access to Services for Smallholder Farmers through Digital Farmer Registry for a total amount of up to US$1.5 million

The competitively selected recipient can be a consulting organization, private sector, alliance of partner service providers, specialized NGO, or an inter-governmental organization (including UN agencies). The applicant should propose some level of cash and in-kind co-financing. The recipient’s contribution must be at least 25% for private sector applicants. For other applicants, it is recommended that the recipient’s contribution is at least 20%.

Project Proposals (in pdf format) can be sent to [email protected]. The deadline to receive proposals is 16th August, at 5:00 pm (CET).

This call for proposals is not-binding: IFAD retains the right to not fund any proposal under this call depending upon quality of the proposals received as well as potential other factors that may require IFAD to shift priorities for funding.

How to submit a proposal (see also the supporting documents below)

Send the following documents to [email protected] with “Agri-Connect Proposal” in the subject. All are mandatory for the proposal to be evaluated by IFAD.

  1. Project proposal using the Project Proposal Template (item 2). The proposal must be aligned with the Grant Proposal Identification Form (item 1), specifying the objectives, scope of work, deliverables and indicative financial envelope.
  2. Detailed budget using the activity-based budget template (item 6).
  3. Bidders' self-certification of eligibility for IFAD grant financing using the template in item 3.
  4. Brief institutional profile, detailing experience in the priority area and specific theme outlined in the Grant Concept Note.

The selected bidder will be required to fill in the Financial Management Self-Assessment Questionnaire (FMAQ) (item 7).

The selected proposal will be discussed with IFAD staff (and if needed finetuned) in order to produce a Grant Design Document that will be proposed for IFAD funding, to be evaluated by IFAD’s senior management.
