Haiti Country Strategy Note (2022-2025)
The goal of this Country Strategy Note is to contribute to rural poverty reduction while strengthening the climate resilience of Haitian rural communities.
The country strategy note is grounded in three strategic objectives:
- Promote the inclusive, sustainable and climate-adapted management of natural resources, such as coastal and marine resources
- Promote community economic ecosystems that are sustainable and facilitate good nutrition
- Invest in human capital
The overall targeting strategy is based on working with the poorest inhabitants, poor and vulnerable populations, and those most susceptible to having limited access to assets and opportunities because of social exclusion, marginalization and/or their physical condition. These groups include: the families of women and men smallholders dedicated to ecologically unsustainable agricultural, livestock farming or fishing practices; extremely poor households that are vulnerable to malnutrition and that have the potential to benefit from improved access to assets and opportunities for income-generating activities; rural women; and rural youth.
