Republic of Malawi Country strategic opportunities programme 2023–2030
The COSOP for Malawi covers the period 2023-2030, thereby encompassing the 2022-2024, 2025-2027 and 2028-2030 cycles of the performance-based allocation system.
The overarching goal is to contribute to rural poverty reduction through the empowered participation of poor rural women, men and youth in the sustainable transformation of agriculture. This goal will be achieved on the basis of two strategic objectives:
- Improved food and nutrition security, to be achieved through the increased agricultural productivity and climate-resilience of smallholder farmers.
- Improved access to remunerative agricultural markets and services, notably for rural women and youth.
