Chile is a high-income country with a GDP per capita of US$15,355. The current high price of copper, for which Chile is a lead exporter, may generate a sustained increase in Chile’s budget and fiscal space.
Chile is the leading country in Latin America and the Caribbean for issuing thematic bonds, including sustainability-linked bonds which are a novel instrument to finance programmes and policies to achieve social goals.
