IFAD at Desertification COP16
At COP16, IFAD will champion investments and initiatives that generate positive outcomes for land, ecosystems and rural communities.
12:00-13:00 CET
While the media is increasingly covering climate change, we still hear very little from the people dealing with it on the frontline: small-scale rural farmers and producers who are fighting persistent droughts, frequent floods, and rising sea levels on a daily basis.
This panel of food activists, chefs, climate journalists, and farmers themselves discuss how to raise their visibility, particularly in the media. The event will feature IFAD’s Recipes for Change series which brings to light how farmers are adapting to the changing climate through the food they grow and the recipes they cook.
The panel includes IFAD’s Jo Puri, Rai Journalist Marina Sapia, Founder Food and Soul Founder Lara Gilmore, BBC correspondent Matt McGrath, and Estrella Penunia, Secretary General of the Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development.
