The Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) provides an open space for dialogue and discussion on critical emerging issues in rural development and food systems.

This year’s AGA will focus on how donors and others can best support progress on food system transformation. To take forward the outcomes of last year’s United Nations Food Systems Summit, the AGA will be a chance to examine how the directions outlined in the GDPRD’s white paper on transforming food systems can be progressed.

The need for food systems transformation has been underscored by how current conflicts and global factors have dramatically increased food prices. There is an emerging challenge for donors to balance their responses to immediate crises, while building long-term resilience.

An extraordinary, special high-level session on “Building Consensus and Coordination on the Current Global Crisis Response Initiatives: The Potential Role of Donors and the GDPRD” will take place on 15 June from 13:30 to 14:45 CET.
