A special session of IFAD’s Governing Council will be held in order to appoint its new President. Nominations received by the Secretary of IFAD for the presidency will be considered by Member States.
The President is appointed for a term of four years and shall be eligible for reappointment for one further term. The President is appointed by at least two thirds of the total number of votes. The President-elect will begin their term of office in October 2022.
