Seventh Global Meeting of the Indigenous Peoples' Forum at IFAD
Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination: a pathway for food security and sovereignty.
Indigenous Peoples are intimately connected with and dependent on the land and its resources, they are responding with determination and creativity, drawing on their wealth of knowledge and wisdom and offering leadership and inspiration to the challenges humanity is facing. The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is a high-level advisory body to the Economic and Social Council. The Forum deals with indigenous issues related to economic and social development, culture, the environment, education, health, and human rights.
This year’s Forum focuses on “Indigenous Peoples, human health, planetary and territorial health and climate change: a rights-based approach”.
