The Nutrition for Growth (N4G) Summit is the flagship international conference on global nutrition. As a multi-stakeholder event, it advocates for ambitious financial and political commitments while fostering dialogue among a diverse range of actors, including governments, international organizations, research institutions, civil society organizations, philanthropies, and private sector entities. Held every four years, this critical event aims to accelerate global progress in ending malnutrition.
The 2025 N4G Summit will take place in Paris on 27-28 March 2025. Building on past editions hosted in the UK, Brazil and Japan, N4G Paris aims to put nutrition at the centre of the sustainable development agenda, make the fight against all forms of malnutrition a universal cause, create continuity between N4G summits in the commitments for good nutrition, and maintain a high level of political and financial engagement for nutrition.
The 2021 N4G Tokyo Summit mobilised over US$27 billion through 396 commitments from 181 stakeholders across 78 countries. The N4G Paris will build on this momentum, driving progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Progress on previous commitments is tracked through the Nutrition Accountability Framework.
In preparation for the summit, six thematic working groups have been set up to develop recommendations on N4G thematic priorities:
- Nutrition, Health and Social Protection
- Nutrition, Transition to Sustainable Climate-Smart and Resilient Food Systems
- Nutrition and Resilience to Crises
- Nutrition and Gender Equality
- Data, Research Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Innovation for Nutrition
- Financing and Accountability for Nutrition.
IFAD is participating in N4G Paris as a member in the International Advisory Group, as co-lead of the Nutrition, Transition to Sustainable Climate-smart and Resilient Food Systems Working Group and is actively engaged in the group on Financing and Accountability for Nutrition. Additionally, IFAD will participate in the launch of a Nutrition Integration Compact and Coalition.
IFAD will reaffirm its commitment to nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food systems, advocating for investments that bridge the gap between food production and nutrition outcomes. Through strategic engagement with governments, international organizations, and the private sector, IFAD will promote policies and financing mechanisms that prioritize nutrition as an integral part of rural development. IFAD will also showcase its efforts in fostering inclusive food systems, ensuring that women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples are actively involved in shaping solutions.
