Non-lending activities, including policy engagement, are essential instruments for scaling-up the impact of investments in rural poverty reduction. In this respect, the Near East, North Africa, Europe and Central Asia Division (NEN) conducted a comprehensive policy mapping to:
- Identify priority entry points in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Multi-Country Office
- Develop a clear agenda that formalizes IFAD’s policy contribution, with smart indicators, recorded incentives, and specific deliverables
- Equip the country teams with strategic orientations for influencing the design, implementation and assessment of transformative pro-poor policies.
To conclude the process, a virtual high-level dialogue on agricultural policy engagement and its contribution to the transformation of food systems and the achievement of the SDGs will take place on Tuesday 16 November 2021, starting at 13:00 Rome time (15:00 Istanbul time).
