Webinar: Fighting fires with rice paddies in Sierra Leone

Farmers supported by the Smallholder Commercialization Programme have shifted from slash-and-burn cultivation to rice cultivation in inland swamps.

This webinar will present the GIS study that discovered that this shift also reduced the number of forest fires. The speakers will present the background on the study, its setup, and the GIS and economic analysis carried out.
