Arnoud Hameleers leads IFAD’s Country Office in Brazil, which is also the region’s South-South and Triangular Cooperation Knowledge Centre. In this role, he develops strategies and programmes, engages in policy development and ensures high visibility of IFAD’s presence in Brazil.
Previously, Hameleers was IFAD’s Country Director for Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bolivia and Honduras. Prior to joining IFAD, he was a Senior Technical Advisor for DANIDA’s agriculture and economic development programmes in Bolivia and Senior Dairy Scientist for the Ministry of Agriculture in Northern Ireland.
Hameleers holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Systems from the University of Glasgow, an M.Sc. in Tropical Animal Health from the University of Edinburgh and a B.Sc. from the Tropical Agricultural College in the Netherlands.
