Claus Reiner leads the Environment, Climate and Social Inclusion team in IFAD’s East and Southern Africa Division.
He was previously responsible for the IFAD's programme in Brazil, where he also led the region’s SSTC and Knowledge Centre. Before that, he managed the country programmes in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Mozambique, Angola, Rwanda and Burundi. Prior to joining IFAD in 2007, Reiner was a consultant specializing in development economics and rural finance.
Reiner holds a Masters’ Degree in International Agricultural Development by the Humboldt University of Berlin. He did his undergraduate studies in Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Munich.
