David Berno is the Remittances and Inclusive Digital Finance Officer at IFAD’s Financing Facilities for Remittances (FFR), where he has led implementing activities in Kenya and Uganda since 2021.

Before IFAD, Berno worked as a consultant at FAO, Microfinanza Srl and Access Bank Tanzania. In Italy, he worked at Unicredit – Agenzia Tu, a banking department focusing on migrants, and at Micro Progress Onlus, a civil society organization focused on financial inclusion. His areas of expertise range from strategic & operational management, inclusive & digital finance, payment and rural & agricultural finance.

Berno holds a master’s degree in economics from La Sapienza University in Rome.
