Gabriel (Gabe) Laizer is the Congressional and Civil Society Outreach Partnership Officer at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He is responsible for deepening corporate level collaboration with key stakeholders (government, financial institutions, and civil society) in the United States.
Laizer has over 15 years’ experience fostering strong partnerships among multilateral organizations, the private sector, NGOs, research and academic institutions in areas of food and nutrition security, agriculture and international development.
Prior to joining IFAD, Laizer worked at the FAO North America where he was responsible for developing strategic alliances and outreach efforts to deepen, expand and improve partnership impact among FAO partners in North America.
Earlier positions include Manager of Membership Services at the Alliance to End Hunger where he focused on expanding Alliance membership and resource mobilization. As an organizing Assistant at Bread for the World, Laizer helped develop and implement Bread’s annual legislative campaign and mobilized a grassroots network of members, activists, and churches across the United States to advocate for changing policies, programs and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist.
Laizer has a master's degree in International Development from The American University in Washington, DC, and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from California Lutheran University.
