Lilian Volcan is IFAD’s Lead Regional Economist for East and Southern Africa, where she is based at the Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Volcan joins us from the University of Oxford International Gender Studies Centre (IGS), where she worked as Research Associate of the Innovation Funding and Entrepreneurship Project. Prior to this, she worked as Projects Manager of GEF Projects in the MENA Region with the FAO; and as Head Projects and Sustainability for the International Coffee Organisation (ICO) in London.
Volcan possesses a Postdoc in Diplomacy from the University of Oxford, a DPhil in Agricultural Policies and Economics from the University of Bologna, and a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Central University of Venezuela.
