Grameen Bank Project - IFAD
Grameen Bank Project
This project was set up to support the developing Grameen Bank and to help it become a stable and efficient financial institution in which rural poor people would participate actively. The Bank was helped to develop as an independent banking institution with branches in areas where rural poor people lived, thus enabling them to benefit from its services. At the same time, the Bank was encouraged to grow as an innovative financial institution, carrying out research and testing technologies that can be used to raise the productivity and profitability of enterprises operated by borrowers.
