Agricultural Credit Project - IFAD
Agriculture Credit Project
The purpose of this project was to increase agricultural output – including the production of export crops in which Paraguay enjoys a comparative advantage – and to help improve the incomes and living conditions of small- and medium-scale farmers.
The project was designed to improve farmers' access to financial resources by:
- Establishing a country-wide agricultural credit programme to finance long-term credit for on-farm investments and short-term credit for operating costs
- Strengthening the staff, services and associated facilities of agricultural credit operations.
